My street photography.
looking down
The task here was to create some photos looking down on their subject. It was the first genre of street photography. I started by making my model (Becca) walk down the stairs and I took some photos of her walking. I think that this was the easiest part of all of my photographs because it was planned and I could just ask her to do it again if it was blurry. The hardest photos to take were the ones of the students walking because they were all going so fast and I did not want to take an out-of-focus image. I found this task fun because it was interesting to see people from a different angle that I wouldn't be normally be looking at. My favourite photo was the one of the three pairs of people because it looks planned because they're walking in a pattern, but it wasn't planned and just looks really nice. My least favourite photo was the one of the big crowd because it looks messy.

My most successful photo (in my opinion)
I like this photo because I got it right before the teachers looked up and noticed I was taking a picture, because as soon as they noticed, they moved away and wouldn't go back. A very important part of street photography is being able to quickly get your camera in order to snap the photo extremely fast.

Shadows and reflections
image analysis
This is a photo (I think it is a multiple exposure) of cars driving at night from birds eye view. Although its probably not intended, I think that this photo is very neat and looks well composed. This image is in colour. I feel that if the photo was in Black and White, it wouldn't have the same effect. The photographer has definitely used a wide angle lens to take this photo. If I had to give this image a name, I would call it cars because it is a simplistic and matches the photo.

Image analysis
This is an image of 4 people dressed in brown trench coats. The people that are the centre of the image are walking through a cloud of smoke. The people on the left side of the image have shadows of people that are off camera on their backs. This image is in colour, which is effective because the blue of the sky and the sunlight contrasts the shadows and the darkness really well. I think that this photo is very calm in the composition and seems quite organised. The photographer is quite clearly standing. You can tell because the photographers shadow is in the bottom of the photograph. I think the photographer is standing still because the photo is very in focus, but i think the subject of the photo is walking because that is the position that they are in.

Street photography
How do street photographers behave?
Most street photographers seem rude and quite invasive to their subjects. They rarely ask to take their photos and they will usually just take it and walk away. Some street photographers, however, ask if they can take the photo and those are quite composed and the person tends to smile/ pose. What kind of equipment do they use? They use SLR cameras and viewfinder cameras (using film) to create their images. Some street photographers use up to 3 rolls of film a day. What kind of subjects interest them? Street photographers take images of strange people. They want images of "characters" and not people who they think are "ordinary" What are the risks involved in street photography? Some street photographers risk their lives for their photos and are often beaten up because they tend to be quite invasive when they take their photos. What makes a successful street photograph? Basically anything can make a successful street photograph. It just has to be taken on a street. They just have to depict |

Photography homework (2/11/16)
EvaluationI thought this photo came out the best because i had to come out of my comfort zone to take it. I actually had to go up to the man and ask him if I could take his photo because I liked his beard. I chose this image because I liked the colour contrast with the leaves behind him, the sign and rest of the photo (they are much brighter in comparison to the rest of the image. There were photos I could have chosen because the looked better or were taken better but i remember this one because i had to try something new
