Artist research: Nick waplington
This is a gallery of images made by a British photographer named Nick Waplington, in a collection called "indecisive moment". One recurring thing about this gallery is that a lot of the subjects are the same people, and Waplington seems to like to take candid pictures of people he knows. I feel that, because the people don't know the picture is being taken, each image has more life and reality as apposed to if they were posing. The artist uses warm colours in his pictures, giving them a more loving, friendly look in my opinion.

my images
Our homework over this summer is to take 100 pictures documenting "the journey". I took my first pictures over my journey to Eastbourne (a seaside town in England) with my family. Majority of the journey was spent driving through the country side, so a lot of my pictures were of trees and wide landscapes, so although I had roughly 160 photos, I narrowed it down to about 80 and realised I needed more. I added some candid pictures I took of my friend when we went out a few weeks before my family holiday and some other pictures i had taken throughout the holiday. So my gallery depicts the journey of my whole holiday and not just one journey in particular.
one image evaluation
This was my favourite picture that I took over the whole series because I really enjoyed the colours, despite it being a cloudy day. I found that the angle and composition of the picture (having it be mostly sky) made it pretty to look at. One thing I didn't like about the picture was that I got the sign for the ice cream shop in the corner, instead of just the buildings, but I kept it un-cropped to be able to see what I did wrong and take my pictures differently after.
